arrested_handcuffsA Plymouth man was arrested Sunday afternoon for Battery.

Plymouth Police Officer John Weir was dispatched to a fight in the 300 block of Water Street about 1:30 in the afternoon.  Arriving on the scene he found a victim with a bloody swollen nose.

Speaking to the suspect, 31 year old Michael VanLaningham, he told the officer the victim was calling him names and he decided to punch him in the face.

VanLaningham was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $750 cash bond.
