Plymouth Park Superintendent Mike Hite told members of the Park Board that a sink hole has developed on the southwest side of the bridge over the Yellow River in Centennial Park.
While the bridge is the responsibility of the county, the sink hole is immediately adjacent to the bridge and right in the walkway. Hite contacted Jason Peters from the County Highway about the issue and Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt. They will begin working on a solution to the issue.
The sink hole is really a wash-out underneath the asphalt that extends down the steep bank.
The city has placed barricades around the hole. Hite noted that most people use the other side of the sidewalk for the Greenway Trail walking path.
