MugShot_Joseph CromeyOn Sunday July 30, at approximately 9:30 in the morning Marshall County Patrolman Jonathan Bryant was searching the LaPaz area for a vehicle involved in numerous thefts. He located the vehicle near King Road and U.S. 6 at a private residence. He also located 46 year old Joseph Cromey of South Bend who was on a stolen motorcycle and lead the officer on a high speed pursuit north on King Road before wrecking at Tyler Road.

A foot pursuit ensued and the officer was able to apprehend Mr. Cromey utilizing a Taser.  Through the investigation Marshall County Police recovered numerous stolen items from Marshall County and a stolen motorcycle from St. Joseph County.  The offender also had a warrant for his arrest through St. Joseph County.

Mr. Cromey is currently incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail with charges including Resisting Law Enforcement, 3 counts of felony Theft  and numerous driving offenses. He has a $20,000 cash bond.
