Blue Star Museum FlyerTuesday, the Marshall County Museum announced the launch of Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel and their families through Labor Day.

The program provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation’s cultural heritage and learn more about their community, especially after a military move.  A list of participating museums is available at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.  Locally in honor of WWll veterans, Greg Champion, local collector, storyteller and re-enactor, will be presenting, “Government Issued:  What the Average GI Used in WWll,” a free program that tells real stories about how soldiers lived during WWll and how the folks back home were impacted on Friday, August 11th from noon to 1 PM in the Community Room at the Marshall County Museum, 123 North Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth.
