police-pursuitSaturday evening about 7:45 Stg. Trent Stouder with the Bremen Police Department, attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a green passenger vehicle which was traveling north o West Shore Drive at Lake of the Woods.  The driver refused to stop and lead the officer on a pursuit westbound on 4th Road.  The pursuit lasted approximately 20 minutes and covered 17 miles before the driver lost control and crashed into a cornfield at the intersection of Hickory and 9B Road.

After crashing the vehicle the male driver held a female passenger hostage holding a knife to her throat.  After a standoff lasting several minutes the male driver let the female exit the vehicle.  The male continued to resist officer’s commands, and was tased before being taken into custody.

During the investigation the vehicle was discovered to be stolen out of southern Indiana.  The plate on the vehicle was false and fictitious and the driver was found to have 2 active warrants out of Marshall County.

The driver, 35 year old Donald Dickson Jr. was incarcerated in the Marshall County Jail and is facing a long list of charges to be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor.
