Marshall County is proud to announce the launch of the Indiana’s Cool North Taco Wars! With 225 nominations, the top 10 nominated Taco Restaurants in Marshall County will square off against each other in a voting contest to decide who has the best Taco in our county. The voting for Taco War kicks off Friday, July 21, hosted on Marshall County Tourism’s website, http://www.visitmarshallcounty.org/dine/taco-wars-marshall-county-0. The first round lasts ten days. The winner of the best taco in Marshall County will be announced onJuly 31. They will then move on to the regional level, to go head to head against the winning restaurants from the other six counties that make up Indiana’s Cool North.
The ten restaurants that will be representing the best of our county are: Mila’s Mini Market, Yolanda’s Mexican Bar & Grill, Las Palmas, Mi Camino Real, Granny’s Crust Co., Café Max, Pizza Bills, Pat’s Cantina & Grill, Hacienda in Plymouth, and Taco Bell in Plymouth.
Let customers’ voices be heard! Voters can log in to vote each round to make sure their favorite restaurant gets the credit it deserves. Voters can keep checking the website and Marshall County’s social media pages to learn more about the fantastic restaurants competing in this year’s competition. Most importantly, voters are encouraged to sign in and vote each day for a chance to win the grand prize of $25.00 gift certificate to the winning restaurant announced at the end of the competition.
And the competition doesn’t end there! Marshall County Taco Wars is running simultaneously with six other county Taco Wars as part of Indiana’s Cool North Taco Wars project. Indiana’s Cool North is a joint initiative of the Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission (NITDC) and its member convention and visitors bureaus in Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Marshall, Kosciusko, Elkhart and LaGrange counties. NITDC is the leading regional economic development authority focusing on sustainable tourism through effective partnerships.
The Indiana’s Cool North Taco Wars is a follow up from previous competitions such as Burger Wars and Pizza Wars contests. After 200,000 votes cast in previous years, The View Tavern of South Bend was crowned the Burger Wars Champion and The Wooden Peel of Bremen was crowned the Pizza Wars Champion for all of Indiana’s Cool North.
