The Marshall County Highway Department will begin their chip seal road projects next week. The past couple of county highway workers have been preparing several of the roads for the new surface.
Major roads scheduled for the chip and seal process include Overmyer Drive from State Road 17 to the city limits, Olive Trail, Pioneer Drive from State Road 17 to Jim Neu and Plymouth Goshen Trail from the city limits to US 30.
County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters is asking the public to be cautious when driving in a road construction zone. He asks drivers to reduce their speed on the fresh chip and sealed roads, try not to over accelerate on take-off, avoid turning sharply and slamming on breaks.
Fresh chip and sealed roads need some time to cure out so roads will be closed for a period of time.
