CrashInvestigation_2Marshall County Police were investigating a single vehicle crash on US 6 at King Road Thursday afternoon and while finishing the collision investigation observed a second crash at the same location.

The first crash involved 29 year old Saul Antonion Cerrato of Plymouth who was east bound on US 6 in a 1999 Toyota SUV.  The vehicle went off the roadway through the ditch, struck a corner post and rolled several times.

Cerrato was transported to the Bremen Hospital with an injury to his arm.

County Officer Bragg indicated he was Operating a Vehicle without a License.

The second crash at the same location was a three vehicle incident involving a semi tanker and two passenger vehicles.

A Freightliner tanker truck driven by 24 year old Drew Dutoi of Bremen was east bound on U.S. 6 approaching King Road.  He told the officer he was distracted and didn’t observe a 2014 Chevy Cruize driven by 32 year old Karla J. Schraw of Bremen who was slowing or stopped at the intersection of King Road.
The semi tanker struck the rear of Schraw’s vehicle forcing it into the path of a west bound Chevy Impala driven by 30 year old Justice Duszynski of Nappanee.

Darla Schraw was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for an injury to her leg and shoulder.  Traffic was stopped on U.S. 6 for approximately an hour while vehicles and debris were removed from the roadway.  The Marshall County Police Department was assisted by LaPaz EMS and the Indiana State Police at the scene of the collision.
