Earth-day-logoThe Mayor’s Youth Council will host the 5th Annual Earth Day Clean-up Event this Saturday, April 22nd.

The community, individuals, families, organizations and groups are invited to River Park Square at 9 a.m. for a few words from Mayor Senter and some coffee and donuts to energize you for a morning of clean-up work in the various parks throughout the city.  Participants will be divided into groups and disbursed throughout the city to pick-up trash, leaves and sticks and pull weeds in an effort to beautify the city.

Volunteers should meet at River Park Square with appropriate shoes, long pants and work gloves.  Trash bags will be provided.

The Earth Day clean-up will last until 1 p.m. but you don’t have to stay the whole time.  The Youth Council understands that families are busy so if you only have an hour or two to share with the city that is fine.  Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Earth Day Clean-up is sponsored by the Marshall County Recycle Depot, HIS Small Wonders Preschool, Republic Services, X-Ray Consultants and Project Kindness.
