Hidden FiguresThe public is welcome to a special screening of the award-winning 2016 film, Hidden Figures, at Culver Academies’ Eppley Auditorium Saturday, April 22, starting at 7 p.m.

The event will utilize the high resolution digital video projection at the auditorium thanks to a recent grant by Michael Huffington ’65. Culver students, faculty, and staff will be admitted free of charge. There will be a minimal charge of $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and $3 for children for the general public.

The movie, which was nominated for three Academy Awards and two Golden Globes, and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, tells the inspiring story of three African American women mathematicians working behind the scenes at NASA during the Space Race, the challenges they faced, and the triumphs exemplified in their story.

The screening is anticipated to be the first of more special movie opportunities at Eppley, with news of forthcoming events expected at a later date. Those with questions may contact Marsha Coven at marsha.coven@culver.org, or 574-842-7058.
