Another successful Triton Athletic Hall of Fame banquet was held at the Back 40 Saturday, February 18th, as the 2017 class was inducted, Triton’s seventh. Inductees Sharon Patterson Doan (student athlete 1992), Bob Burris (coach, teacher 1970-1995), Mike Byron (athletic director, teacher 1993-2007), Max Anders (student athlete 1965) all gave speeches that included laughter, tears, memories, and love of the community. Thank you to those who’ve helped make this special event possible.
The Triton Elementary School library, under the direction of Denise Shafer, had a reading challenge to see which class would read the most minutes in three weeks. The winner would receive a pizza party. Mrs. Mevis’ fourth grade class won with 7,722 minutes. The school total was 46,503 minutes. We also had individual winners who each received $10.00 to spend at the Book Fair. The winners were: Brady Heckaman 1st grade, Trey Krammerer 2nd, Kayla Miller 3rd, Mya Davis 4th, Lena Doll 5th, Sydney Scarberry 6th. Great job to all of these reader leaders! Reading makes us all winners! Great job Triton Elementary!
