About 9 p.m. the Marshall County Dispatch Center received a call from the Plymouth Walmart of two males who stole two large screen televisions from the store and left headed east bound on US 30 in a Chevy Avalanche.
City Officer Chad Beatty located the suspect’s vehicle and attempted a traffic stop at US 30 and US 31. The vehicle refused to stop and headed north on US 31. At this point Marshall County Police joined in the pursuit. Officers laid stop sticks at U S 6 but they failed.
The vehicle continued north into Saint Joseph County with multiple squad cars in pursuit. The vehicle turned east onto Ireland Road and then north onto Fellow Street before driving though several yards, hitting a porch and a vehicle before coming to rest on Teri Street.
The driver, 27 year old Dustin Jacob Lorman of Granger was taken into custody and booked for Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement with a vehicle, Operating While Intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, OWI Endangerment, Reckless Driving and Operator Never Licensed. His cash bond was set at $3,000.
Both are scheduled to appear in Marshall Superior Court II on March 7th.
