operation_roundup_logoOn Tuesday, January 24 the Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up board awarded 5 grants, totaling $7,798, to the following organizations:

Bread of Life Community Food Pantry received funding to purchase an air conditioner for the garage space of their new building to allow more food storage between 68 and 74 degrees.  Bread of Life provides one source of nutritious food to supplement the needs of the poor.

Operation_RoundUp_ISP K9Cops for Kids/ Indiana State Police Alliance Foundation received funding to purchase stuffed animal dogs that represent Indiana State Trooper, David Caswell’s partner, Chase. The stuffed animals will be distributed in various scenarios or situations to help comfort individuals focusing primarily on children.

The Marshall County Council On Aging received funding to assist with the purchase of new computer towers to improve their overall communication, such as scheduling and billing. The Marshall County Council on Aging provides information to the general public regarding services for seniors, the disabled and their families.

Marshall County 4-H Fairboard received funding to assist with the purchase of an updated sound system for the fairgrounds in order to comply with Emergency Management recommendations. The Marshall County 4-H Fair board is dedicated to providing quality experiences and developing strong leadership skills in Marshall County Youth.

Special Olympics Indiana: Marshall-Starke received funding to help with a new fitness program for athletes in Special Olympics and anyone who would like to join.  Special Olympics is a not-for-profit organization that offers year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Operation Round Up program allows Marshall County REMC members to reach out to worthy causes in their community and work together to help others. Thank you to those members who round up their electric bill to the next highest dollar each month and to the Marshall County Community Foundation for making these donations possible. You have helped donate over $70,000 to organizations in the community!
