Shortly before 11 Tuesday night the Plymouth Fire Department received a call of a chicken coop totally engulfed in flames behind a home on Lincoln Highway west of Plymouth in the 15,000 block.
A minute or two later a second fire call came in of the barn fire. The fully engulfed barn was at the intersection of US 30 and Rose Road.
The extreme winds made it difficult for firefighters to battle the blazes.
Plymouth asked for assistance from Culver and Washington Township.
