My Approved PortraitsFriday, U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly announced that Peter Hanscom, veteran of several statewide Democratic campaigns and bipartisan issue campaigns in Indiana, will serve as campaign manager for his 2018 reelection.

Donnelly said, “I am running for reelection in 2018 so I can continue working non-stop on behalf of Indiana families. With Peter’s leadership, I am confident we will be successful in this effort. Peter has a tireless work ethic, possesses Hoosier common sense, and has years of experience working on bipartisan issue campaigns and Democratic statewide elections. He has organized, managed, and communicated on civil rights issues and many of the challenges facing Indiana working- and middle-class families. I look forward to working with him in the months ahead.”

Hanscom said, “I’m honored to serve as campaign manager for Senator Donnelly’s reelection to the United States Senate. I look forward to leading an experienced team focused on highlighting his record of bipartisan accomplishment and delivery of common sense solutions for hard working Hoosier families. Like Joe, I have never shied away from a tough fight when there’s so much at stake–and 2018 will be no different.”
Hanscom was most recently the campaign manager for the Indiana Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign, previously serving as the Indiana state director for Hillary for America and deputy campaign manager for Freedom Indiana, a statewide bipartisan coalition that successfully derailed a constitutional amendment referendum campaign banning gay marriage and civil unions. Hanscom also served as initiative director for Indiana Competes, a business coalition calling for non-discrimination protections for LGBT Hoosiers in employment, housing, and public accommodations; outreach director for U.S. Senator Donnelly; executive director for the Indiana Democratic House Caucus; and political director for Indiana Democratic Party during the 2012 cycle.
