river-park-square_landscapePlymouth Park Superintendent Mike Hite was granted approval to begin the hiring process during Tuesday’s park board meeting.

Hite told park board members the 2017 budget includes the addition of a full time employee to his staff.  He would like to start the hiring process immediately so the new employee can begin on the job by March.

Hite was also granted permission to apply for a Community Foundation Grant for portable fencing.  He said there are several events in the various parks that limit participation such as the concerts and the Craft Brew Festival in River Park Square, Encore events at the Young Amphitheatre and beer tasting during the Blazin BBQ event in Centennial Park.

Hite wants to apply for a grant to purchase 900 linier feet of portable fencing in 6 foot panels at an estimated cost of $15,600.  The park would be required to have a 10% match for the grant.
