mugshot_matthew-steele-1A Nappanee man was arrested for carrying a handgun without a license on December 23rd.

An officer with the Marshall County Police Department stopped on a vehicle on Michigan Road near 5A Road Friday evening about 9:45.

During the course of the investigation it was determined that the driver, 23 year old Matthew Steele was in possession of a loaded handgun and had no valid license.  He was also in possession of paraphernalia.

Steele was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $750 cash bond and given a January 31st court date in Marshall Superior Court II for his initial hearing.  He bonded out December 24th at 2:25 in the morning.
