The Utility Superintendent for the Town of Argos was seriously injured in an accident Thursday.
Jim Burroughs was working in a bucket truck on Linden Road Thursday afternoon about 1:45 and fell out of the bucket to the ground. Scanner traffic indicated Burroughs fell 12 to 15 feet, landing on his head. He was airlifted from the ITAMCO parking lot to the trauma unit at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Although Jim Burroughs was alert and conscious, he was in great pain. He sustained a fracture to the 3rd and 4th vertebrae along with contusions to the head and is extremely bruised and sore.
Burroughs has been moved from the trauma unit to the neurology floor and will be resting up this weekend with surgery being scheduled for Monday.
