Spell_Bowl_WordArtApproximately 6,000 students from around the state have been preparing for the 32nd annual Indiana Academic Spell Bowl, which will take place at 18 sites around the state for grades 9-12 on Wednesday evening, November 2, 2016.

Plymouth High School (PHS) is one of the host sites.The event is free and open to the public.

Here at PHS among the schools competing in the Class 1 category are reigning state champ Penn High School, 2015 state finalist Plymouth High School, and Mishawaka High School; Class 2 Schools: 2015 state finalists John Glenn High School and New Prairie High School, and Class 3 Schools: Bremen, and Class 4 Schools: Caston. Coach Jim Groendyke of New Prairie will be retiring after this season following numerous state finals appearances.

There will be plenty of spectator seating available in the varsity gym where the event will take place promptly starting at 6 p.m.
