Bourbon Police Officer Matt Geiger stopped a Chevrolet Trailblazer in the 500 block of Old US 30 Friday morning just after 2 in Bourbon. The traffic stop was for left of center, failure to dim headlights and speeding.
The driver who was identified as Brent A. Rutherford of Atwood was found to be intoxicated. Mr. Rutherford failed field sobriety tests and a certified test. His blood alcohol level was .25%.
Rutherford was taken to the Marshall County Jail where he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and given a cash bond of $1,500.00.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Every defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
