City NEwsMonday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety ratified the bid award of Phend & Brown of Milford for the city’s fall street and sidewalk projects.

Low bid for the projects was $674,922 and the streets included in the project are: Hoham Drive, Jim Nue Drive, Walter Glaub Drive, Pilgrim Lane, the west end of Washington Street, a portion of Alexander Street and Ewing Street from Bayless to Angle.

The Board of Works also approved change order # 1 from Thomas Excavating for the re-route of the sanitary sewer under the Boys and Girls Club.

Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson was hoping to save a bit of money by using an existing manhole but then the company got into it the found it was deteriorating.  The change order will add $540 to the project but Davidson said he anticipates additional savings on the project.
