Vote Machines Updated for November’s General Election

September 1, 2016

Election BoardWork is gearing up for the Marshall County Election Board with the presidential election in November.

Marshall County Clerk, Deb VanDeMark told members that all 94 voting machines have been upgraded and are ready for programming.  The cost to update the voting machines was $134,804.  The company agreed to delay payment until next year but VanDeMark said there have been some discussions on paying for the update this year using the cum cap development fund.

Letters were sent to both County Chairmen asking them to make recommendations for the absentee voter board.  The deadline to submit is September 23.  The County Chairmen also have an October deadline to make their recommendations for the election workers too.

Voter registration is open until October 11th at 4 p.m. and then on October 12 absentee voting in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office opens.  Absentee voting will be available Monday through Friday from 8 to 4 weekdays until November 7th at noon.
