INDOT Snow Plow

The Indiana Department Of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking Seasonal Winter Program Workers to perform general highway maintenance duties during the winter season, November to March. Seasonal Winter Program Workers perform snow and ice removal operations and earn $15 per hour. Seasonal Winter Program Workers who serve exclusively as “on call” snowplow drivers earn $20 per hour. Seasonal workers must meet the following requirements:

 

Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Be able to lift 50 pounds and perform general functions, such as lifting, dragging, stooping, waving and other activities

Be able to endure exposure to inclement weather

Be able to rotate shifts when necessary

Submit to and pass a drug test as a condition of employment

 

INDOT is conducting several job fairs in the LaPorte District in order to fill multiple Seasonal Winter Program Worker job openings. Job seekers who submit applications at district job fairs may be interviewed for positions on the spot.

The various job fairs are 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Locally the Plymouth Sub District at 12636 4A Road will conduct their job fair on Thursday, September 15th. Other job fairs include the Gary Sub District on September 14th, LaPorte Sub District on September 28th and the Monticello Sub District on September 30th.

 

Applicants should bring their drivers’ license, record of highest education achieved (ie. Diploma), and current resume. Application assistance will be available on site.
