BUGS2016

The Plymouth Kiwanis Club is pleased to announce that the BUGS program proudly gave away six brand new bicycles to Plymouth and Argos Elementary 4th graders who participated in the program. BUGS program coordinator Anna Corbett of Miller’s Assisted Living explained how the BUGS program works.

BUGS stands for “Bringing Up Good Standards”, said Corbett. “Each year the Plymouth and Argos elementary fourth graders are given a chance to bring up their grades during the year. One fourth grader from each school who has worked the hardest in the program and brought their grades up receives a bicycle.”

The Kiwanians go into the classrooms at least three times a year. During their first visit they explain how the BUGS Program works. The second visit is to continue encouraging the students to do their best work. The third and final visit is a year end party for all the fourth graders.

This year bicycles were donated by Miller’s Senior Living Community, Van Gilder’s Funeral Home, Ginny Holycross, Marie Pesak, Fitness Forum, and Susan Wagoner.
