The aerial mating disruption treatment conducted by the DNR in Marshall County is complete.
On Thursday afternoon five Air Tractors were at the Plymouth Municipal Airport working with the DNR to slow the population growth of Gypsie Moths.
The air tractors sprayed female Gypsie Moth pheromones which won’t kill the males but will confuse them and lead them on an endless chase of a female that is not at the end of the scent trail, therefore no mating takes place.
In Marshall County 867 Arces near Argos, 692 acres around Inwood and 2,648 acres around Donaldson were crop dusted with the pheromones.
