Indiana State Police Senior Trooper David Caswell recently spoke to an Amish community in Elkhart County about the dangers, warnings signs, and law enforcement’s response to the drug epidemic.

ISP_Amish_DrugTalk_2Caswell, a fourteen year veteran of the state police, was tasked to develop a program and speak to the community after the Bremen Post was contacted by Amish leadership.  Caswell’s presentations took place over two different evenings and addressed more than 400 youth and adults.

The two hour program covered many different facets including a canine demonstration with his K9 partner Chase.  Caswell’s program also included a presentation and open discussion about drug identification, current drug trends among youth and adults, and the consequences of alcohol and drug use.
