Gilliland Resigns, Caucus to Fill Set on County Council

caucusMarshall County Republicans will conduct a caucus on Thursday June 9th to fill a vacancy on the Marshall County Council.

On Monday, council member at large, Rex Gilliland submitted his letter of resignation to Republican Chairman David Holmes. Gilliland is resigning his position on the county council effective June 1st because he has accepted a position as Court Security with the Sheriff’s Department.

Any person interested in filling the remaining term of Gilliland on the council should file a Declaration of Candidacy no latter than 5 p.m. on June 6th. Gilliland’s term on the council council will end December 31, 2016.
