Street-Work-SignBids were opened Monday night for the 2016 Street and Sidewalk Program for the City of Plymouth.

Five companies submitted bids for the eight projects.

Reith Riley from South Bend came in with a bid of $531,065 while Phend & Brown of Milford bid $375,279 and Walsh & Kelly of South Bend bid $349,681.  Other bidders were E&B Paving from Rochester offered a bid of $456,828 and Niblock Excavating of Bristol bid $399,871.  Bids were taken under advisement to be reviewed by City Engineer Rick Gaul and Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt with a recommendation anticipated at the next city meeting in two weeks.

2016 Street and Sidewalk Projects include:

Plum Street from Jackson to Novelty

Fairfield Blvd. from Hillcrest to the detention pond

PIDCO from the Broadway turn to Oak Drive

Nutmeg from Oakhill to the corporate limits and

Memory Court from Berkley thru the cul-de-sac.

Paving in Centennial Park includes near the Kiddie Kingdom, the east area of Nixon Field and the area west of Nixon Field. The bid also includes special unit price for undercut and backfill.

Mayor Senter confirmed a total budge of $750,000 for projects this year.
