local News_2Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi told members of the Redevelopment Commission that he was working with the County Auditor’s office last week and found something interesting.

While reviewing and comparing all of the city’s TIF records on District 2 it was learned that the county’s map and the city’s map for the TIF district did not match up. Surrisi said, “There were just two little things, on East Jefferson the Hair Bungalow wasn’t supposed to be in the TIF but the building to the west was to be in and wasn’t.”

The one difference may make a slight change in the amount of tax allocation TIF 2 can receive.   Surissi said, “The Coffee Lodge should have been in the TIF and the county’s map did not have it in.”

The county will be making the necessary adjustments to TIF 2 and have asked the City Attorney to compare the maps for TIF 1 and TIF 3 and make sure everything is the same.

In other business Surrisi said, “Marshall County Economic Development Corporation is still working on the shell building.”  The group is working on a prospect to either purchase of lease the manufacturing facility.  Surrisi said, “We may have some big news to report in the near future.”
