Centennial Park_GraffitiMonday evening the Plymouth Park Board opened bids for new pool liners for both the big pool and the baby pool and for renovations to the pool house.

Three companies submitted bids for the liners.  Naqua Tech Swimming Pools from LaPorte bid $112, 042 for the big pool and $10,450 for the baby pool for a total bid of $122,492.   Pool Equipment LLC from Indy offered a combined bid of $63,695 and Clint Maddox Construction of Plymouth bid $92,461.38 for the combined bid and $39,551 for an alternate bid for an age specific splash pad in place of the baby pool.

Only two bids were received for the pool house renovations which will include new toilets, sinks, mirrors, showers, partitions, along with cleaning up and sprucing up both the men and women’s shower rooms. An alternative bid was to make improvements to the guard room.   Clint Maddox Construction bid $131,408.37 for the entire project and included exterior doors and lights, a new ceiling, replacing the ventilation system and putting down a non-skid floor.

The second bid was from Michiana Contracting in the amount of $70,600 and only included the two shower rooms and not as an extensive project.

Because the projects are time sensitive and need to be completed before summer the park board allowed Park Superintendent Mike Hite to review the bids and make the appropriate selection.
