Wednesday afternoon John Nifong filed as a candidate for a County Council At-Large seat on the Democratic ticket.
Nifong’s registration bring the total to 8 candidates for the three County Council At-Large seats up for this year’s elections. There are two democrats; John Nifong and Donna Wenzel and six republicans; incumbents Steve Harper and Jon VanVactor along with Toni Hutchings, Penny Lukenbill, Jim Masterson and Jack Roose on the ballot so far.
Candidates interested in filing for a county office must file by noon on Friday for the May 3rd Primary.
