Christmas Spectacular 2015Plymouth High School’s seventh annual production of “Christmas Spectacular” opens this weekend with shows on both Friday and Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m.   The huge holiday event celebrates the talents of all of the students in the music programs.

“This production is such a wonderful event because all of the students and ensembles in our music program are highlighted, and we also have numerous small ensembles and mass combined numbers in the show.  This year, we even have a couple of performances of music that was written or arranged by students in our program,” said band director Bryan Ames.

The ensembles featured in the production are the three choirs (Chorale, Counterpoint, and Crimson Connection), the orchestra, and the four bands (Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and the Marching Band and Color Guard).  Additional small ensembles include vocal quartets, a flute choir, jazz duo, and a string ensemble.

“Our theater department and auditorium crews additionally spend a lot of time preparing the stage and all of the decorations for our show.  There is a lot that goes into the production in the weeks leading up to the show.   The students have been coming in during the evenings for dress rehearsals and putting in extra rehearsal time for this event.”

For both shows, tickets will go on sale at 6:15 p.m. and the doors will open around 6:30 p.m.  Both shows begin at 7:00 p.m.  All tickets are general seating and available only at the door.   Ticket prices are $5.00 for everyone.

Please, come and join the Plymouth High School Music Department this weekend and bring in the holiday season with great entertainment by our students.
