Crash_US30&Queen7-29Wednesday morning at 10:12 Marshall County Police responded to a two semi crash at US 30 and Queen Road.  Officer Jordan Rans investigated the crash.

A 2012 International semi with a loaded flatbed trailer had been stopped at the intersection of US 30 and Queen Road for a red light. The light turned green and the driver, Thomas Prairie of Illinois began accelerating into the intersection.

Crash_US30&Queen7-29-1A 2015 Kenilworth semi with a loaded flatbed trailer was also traveling east on US 30 approaching the intersection of Queen Road and observed the green light at the intersection. The driver, William Snelling of Nebraska did not slow down to allow the first semi enough time to get up to speed.   Snelling rear ended the trailer in front of him which caused his semi to jack-knife and come to rest in the middle of the east bound lanes of US 30.

Prairie’s semi was pushed east of the intersection and lost part of its load due to the impact.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Fire & EMS, Indiana State Police, and Carnegie Towing.
