FIre_GardenCourt_1Emergency Crews responded to a fire alarm situation at the Garden Court Residential facility at 400 West Washington Street in Plymouth Monday afternoon about 1:30.

FIre_GardenCourt_2Smoke in the facilities kitchen area at the southwest corner of the structure caused the alarm system to activate.  Residents were asked to move to the outside of the building and wait for firefighters to clear the structure.

Fire_GardenCourt_3Within a short period of time the cause of the smoke was located.  A light ballast had overheated in the kitchen area.

FIre_GardenCourt_4Firefighters used exhaust fans to clear the building of smoke and everyone was allowed back into their apartments.
