SoringEagle_dinner2015Thursday evening Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter hosted his 4th Annual Soaring Eagle Awards ceremony at Christo’s Banquet Center.  The Soaring Eagle Award is exclusive to the LaSalle Council and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated integrity, a record of volunteer leadership, service to youth and their community.  The recipient must carry “The Spirit of Scouting” into their adult life.

SoringEagle_Chris KurtisLast night two Soaring Eagle Awards were presented, one was a total surprise to the recipient while the second one was presented to Pam and Chris Kurtis from Christo’s Family Dining and Christo’s Banquet Center.

SoaringEagle_Clarence ShivleyThe surprise Soaring Eagle Award was presented to Clarence Shivley, the Ranger of Rice Woods and a guardian of Scouting in Marshall County for so many years.  Cory Shivley, Clarence’s son Cory surprised his dad and honored him as the special guest speaker.

The second award presented Thursday evening was the Boy Scout Good Turn Award that recognizes outstanding companies or individuals that make a significant and enduring contribution in the community where they live. They are noted for good turns that focus on one or more of the five core values of the Boy Scouts of America: Leadership, Achievement, Community, Service, Character and the Outdoors.
