Triton High School held their annual Academic Awards Banquet on Friday evening, May 22nd at Christo’s Banquet Center.
Departmental awards were presented. Nathal Slabaugh received the Ag Award, presented by Christina Stout. Stout also presented the Family Consumer Science Award to Hallie Zimmerman. The Art Award was presented by Diana Westphal to Gabrielle Cretcher while the National Choral Award went to Lillie Berger. Peter Foster presented the John Philip Sousa Award to Justin Hefner and Susan Dietzel presented the Business Award to Kezia Scherer-Berry.
Additional departmental awards included Lisa Otto who received the English Award, Wes Rettinger presented the Mathematics Award to Jared Fisher and Max Slusser received the Physical Education Award presented by Gayle Perry. Dawn Slein presented the Science Award to Lillie Berger and Slein also presented the Social Studies Award to Bruno De Souza. The Spanish Award was presented to Cody Anderson by Sarah Stockinger.
Last Friday night more than $27,000 in scholarships were awarded to seniors at Triton High School. Award recipients included: Jared Fisher and Lisa Otto received the Audrey Grossman Memorial Scholarship. Justin Martin received the Bourbon Alumni renewable Scholarship and Justin Hefner, Landon Kaufman, and Grant Stichter each receive the Charles Wolf Scholarship.
Hailey Ross received the Etna Echo Scholarship and Krystal Sellers was awarded the Jacob Berger Memorial Scholarship. Other memorial scholarships presented were to Lillie Berger who received the Jack Kochert Memorial Scholarship, Deliliah Hochstedler who was awarded the Jill Carpenter Memorial Scholarship, Derek Johnson who was presented with the Mary Thomas Memorial Scholarship, while the Nathan Collins Memorial Scholarship went to Alex Eib. The D. Neil Rettinger Memorial Scholarships were presented to Samantha Bontrager and Krystal Sellers while the Nicholas Scholarship was awarded to Rachael Chickering. Reid Mosson received the Kenny Klotz Memorial Scholarship and Landon Kauffman was awarded the Reghan Kreft Nellans Memorial Scholarship.
Brad Mason presented the Lewis and Neva Mason Scholarships to Jared Fisher and Hannah Jennings while Samantha Bontrager was awarded the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren Scholarship. Robert Ross presented the Triton Education Foundation Scholarships to: Spencer Glingle, Arianna Nelson, Skyler Reichert, Ronica Sinkey and Makayla Musilli.
The Triton FFA Scholarships were presented to Lexee Lemler and Nathan Slabaugh by Christina Stout and Superintendent Donna Burroughs presented the Triton Kiwanis Scholarships to Nathaniel Spangle and Austin Sellers.
