PHS PLTW students to Purdue annual Engineering ExpoRecently Plymouth High School Project Lead The Way teacher Rich Schieber and a group of Project Lead The Way students attended the annual Engineering Expo at Purdue University in West Lafayette. Mr. Schieber was just informed by Purdue University that it has been officially determined that one of the PHS teams that competed while at the expo placed second overall out of 120 teams in the impromptu design challenge. The expo was held on April 2, 2015.

The PHS team members were: Emory Smith (10), Lauren Wiegand (10), and Alexander Fox 11.

The team earned a $1000 scholarship to split equally between all 3 of the team members. The scholarships are for tuition if students attend Purdue University’s main campus in West Lafayette.

All 3 students are all part of the Plymouth High School’s Project Lead The Way program. This is the 2nd year PLTW students from PHS have attended the Engineering Expo.

The Engineering Expo is a hands-on, head-first dive into the multifaceted world of engineering. Students in grades 6-12 will have fun exploring the possibilities of Purdue engineering and competing on teams in an engaging design challenge. This was the eighteenth annual Engineering Expo atPurdue University!
