Andrew who prefers to be called “Drew” said the scholarship will pay for all four years of his tuition. However, he is applying for additional scholarships to help pay for the cost of room and board, along with the cost of his books.

Andrew Gerard in Biology LabThe Rural Health Scholarship Program is designed specifically to prepare students from rural Indiana to return to their hometowns, or a similar town, as a primary care physician. Indiana State University and Indiana University School of Medicine have joined together to develop this unique program.

For consideration for this award, candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, a 1200 SAT (combined critical reading and mathematics on one test date) or a 27 ACT, and reside in rural Indiana.

Andrew would like you to know ironically, he knows another Rural Health Scholarship recipient through his church. Her name is Alivia Niece and she attends LaVille High School.
