Marshall County Plan Director Ralph Booker appeared before the commissioners Monday seeking official action on the ordinance amendment to create a commercial overlay district in the zoning ordinance.
Last meeting the commissioners tabled any action on the creation of a commercial overlay zoning district and never head the ordinance amendment to place that overlay in the area of US 6 between US 31 and the new US 31.
Booker told the commissioners, “These are still on the table. If there is no action taken, according to state law they become law within 90 days of action of the Plan Commission.”
The commissioners unanimously voted to deny both ordinances.
Booker said, “I hope this doesn’t stop the conversation,” and Commissioner Kevin Overmyer commented, “That wasn’t the intention of doing this, it was to start the conversation.”
