encore_logoThis week Encore Performing Arts released details of their 2015 Season at an event held at the Heartland Artist Gallery in downtown Plymouth.

The 2015 season opens on June 6th with Original Art Songs.  This event, held at the Plymouth Church of the Brethren will feature original music from rural mid-America composers and then on Sunday, June 7th at 2 p.m. the Original Art Songs will feature original contemporary hymns of rural mid-America.

Art Sparks, creative arts camp will offer two sessions this summer.  “Improbably Improv” for children in grades 5 through 12 the week of June 8th though the 13th with a performance at the 13th at 11:30 a.m.  The second arts camp, “The Legend Let Loose” is for youth in grades 3 through 12 and will be July 20th through the 25th.  The performance will be on July 25th at 11:30 a.m.

The Missoula Children’s Theater will be in town June 22nd through the 27th and this year’s performance will be “Blackbeard the Pirate.”  All school age children are welcome to audition for parts.  The week-long event is scheduled for June 22nd through the 27th with performances on the 26th and 27th.

July brings the Music in the Park Series to the Young Amphitheatre.  The month long program begins with “Living Proof,” a pop, rock and rhythm and blues group on July 10th.  Country Rock Band the “Matt Ross Band” will entertain on July 17th and “Babylon Sneaker,” a tribute to the music of Steely Dan is scheduled for July 24th. The Music in the Park Series wraps up on July 26th with the Notre Dame Shakespeare’s Young Company performing “Love’s Labor’s Lost” in River Park Square.

Encore Performing Arts was selected to participate in the Arts Midwest World Fest Program.  This is a 2-year cycle beginning in the fall of 2015.  Four ensembles representing four distinct cultures will conduct week-long residencies consisting of one public concert, school concerts, multiple school workshops and outreach activities in the community.

The first Arts Midwest World Fest performer will be Aysenur Kolivar from Turkey.  She will be here November 8th through the 15th.  The second performer will be the group Balandio from Israel.  They will be in residency April 17-24, 2016.  The third perform ace has not yet been determined while the fourth international group will be Le Vent du Nord from Quebec in early 2017.

Encore Performing Arts is also conducting a membership drive and donation drive.
