Giselbach arrestThe Starke County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from a female advising that her husband had a loaded weapon and was threatening harm to himself, her and Law Enforcement if they came to the residence Wednesday afternoon just before 2.

Dispatchers were able to locate an address using GPS from the 911 call but while en-route the 911 call was disconnected.

Officers arrived on the scene and saw a male subject attempting to leave the scene in a maroon Ford SUV.  They ordered him out of the vehicle at gunpoint as he exited the vehicle officers saw him throw a handgun to the ground. Officers were able to take the subject into custody without incident.

The handgun was fully loaded with a live round in the chamber and during a pat down officers located a knife, loose ammunition and an extra ammunition magazine on the subject. They also located a loaded revolver on the floor board of the vehicle and 2 boxes of ammunition.

StarkeCounty_MugShot_Giselbach BookingBenny Giselbach, 37, of Knox, is initially being charged with Possession of Firearm by a Serious/Violent Felon, Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Recklessness while armed with a Deadly Weapon, Carrying a Handgun without a Permit and Domestic Battery.

At this time he is being held in the Starke County Jail with no bond.
