Plymouth Fire DepartmentPlymouth Fire Chief, Rod Miller was granted permission to begin the hiring process to fill a full-time vacancy for the paramedic/firefighter during this week’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

The Chief also presented the November Activity Report. There were a total of 165 alarm situations last month, 133 calls for the emergency medical service incidents. 8 times the fire department was dispatched and cancelled en route, and they had 7 medical assist.

There were 6 false alarms in November, 3 good intent calls, 2 combustible or flammable spills or leaks, 2 natural vegetation fires, 2 unintentional system operations, 1 steam mistaken for smoke and 1 system malfunction.

In November the fire department trained for hypothermia and fire venting.

Looking at alarms by district last month there were 147 in Plymouth, 25 in West Township, 17 in Center Township and 1 in Culver. Paramedic assists had 7 for Walkerton, 4 for Stark County, 2 for LaPaz, and one for Culver and one for another locations which was unnamed.
