Randy-HeadLast week, the Indiana General Assembly convened at the Statehouse in preparation for the 2015 legislative session. The Senate welcomed eight newly elected senators, who took the oath of office surrounded by fellow legislators and family.

Tuesday’s gathering of state lawmakers, known as Organization Day, also provided opportunities to begin discussing legislative topics and meeting with fellow legislators and staff before session officially begins January 6th.

The 2015 session, by law, must end no later than April 29. It is an important session because lawmakers will be working together to pass a comprehensive state budget that will fund government services – like education, infrastructure and public safety – for the next two years.

State Senator Randy Head said, “In addition to the budget, my colleagues and I will be examining and voting on a wide-variety of legislative proposals.”
