Plymouth Fire DepartmentPlymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller presented the October departmental activity report during this week’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

There were a total of 162 alarm situations last month. 132 were for emergency medical service incidents and 9 medical assists. Emergency responders from the fire department responded to 5 false alarms and 5 times there were dispatched and cancelled en route.

There were 4 unintentional system operations and one each for good intent call, natural vegetation fire, public service assistance, smoke or order problem, special outside fire, a structure fire, and a system malfunction call.

Looking at incidents by district show 106 in Plymouth, 31 in Center Township, 14 in West Township, and 1 each in Polk Township and Argos. Paramedic assists were 4 for Walkerton, 2 for Argos and Starke County and one in LaPaz.

Fire and EMS has 259 hours of training in October.
