PlymouthAirportThe Plymouth City Board of Aviation Commissioners met Tuesday evening. On the agenda was the opening of bids for construction work to convert part of a hanger into a workshop and equipment storage area. The bids came in over the engineers estimate and the board took them under advisement while examining their budget for the rest of the year. It is possible they may rebid the work next year as part of the hanger residing project.

The board approved airport manager Dave Lattimer’s request to develop specifications for clearing trees and stumps from the proposed AWOS site and advertise them.

They have a new helicopter at the airport which will be stored in a part of the hanger where no air plane can fit. That is in conjunction with a helicopter training business. The new tenant’s request for hanger space came with a check to cover the first three months of hanger rental. The check was for double the normal amount. They will inform the tenant and either make the lease prepaid for six months or refund half the money. There is still a waiting list for hanger space.
