CASA_HaleyWhat is CASA? That was the question answered at the monthly meeting of the Plymouth Lions Club. Executive Director, Haley Kittrell explained that CASA means Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA of Marshall County is a non-profit organization committed to speaking in the best interest of children who are at risk for abuse and neglect. CASA recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to serve at-risk children in the family court system. The purpose of CASA is to provide advocacy for children of Marshall County who are parties to or affected by litigation involving abuse and/or neglect. Director Kittrell explained the requirements for becoming a volunteer and explained that CASA is a powerful voice in the life of a child.
