MugShot_Andy HorvathSunday evening, August 10th about 8:45 p.m. officers with the Marshall County Police Department were dispatched to attempt to locate a subject who is accused of threatening to kill his family. The male suspect, 61 year old Andy Horvath of South Bend, is accused of intimidating, stalking and harassing his current wife and daughter. Information received prior indicated Mr. Horvath would kill any police officer that attempted to stop him.

Patrolman Bryant located Mr. Horvath in LaPaz and followed him until assistance arrived. Officers then conducted a felony traffic stop and took Mr. Horvath into custody just south of Lakeville on U.S. 31.

Mr. Horvath was then transported to the Marshall County Jail where he is currently being held on a $10,000.00 cash bond for Intimidation and Stalking. Marshall County Officers were assisted by St. Joseph County Police.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made
