Bourbon Police Officer Mathew Haskins assisted by Sergeant Rick Kanarr, Officer Matt Cottrill and Officer Michael Reece responded to a home located at 409 South Thompson Street in Bourbon in reference to a theft report of two firearms and some cash. During the course of the investigation evidence was located that led to the arrest 21 year old Sarah L. Mapes of Jackson, Ohio. Mapes was arrested for theft and possession of a controlled substance.

MugShot_Franklin Mapes22 year old Franklin A. Mapes also of Jackson, Ohio was arrested for theft. They were related to the home owners. They were transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on $4,505 cash bonds.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed.
