The City of Plymouth sustained a substantial amount of damage from the storms that raced through Northern Indiana in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 1.
Employees from the City Street Department have been working diligently since approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to clear the streets of fallen trees, limbs and debris.
NIPSCO crews are in town removing downed power lines and poles in an attempt to restore power to all of the residents of Plymouth. 
Centennial Park sustained an extensive loss of trees while Packard Woods Park sustained a large amount of damage to the play structure when a large tree fell on it.
The Street Department garage was also hard hit when the storm tore off a section of roof and caused damage to the interior of the building. Two vehicles parked inside were slightly damaged by the falling block wall.
While there is property damage, there have not been any reports of injuries to residents during the storm. Mayor Senter asks you to please use extreme caution when cleaning up from this storm. Be aware of the possibility of power lines in downed limbs and trees. If you do see power lines back away and call the police or the utility company to have them handled properly.
The City is still working on a cost estimate of this storm.
