news_logoThe Plymouth Redevelopment Commission is made up of five voting members and one non-voting member. Three are appointed by Mayor Senter. They are Dan Tyree, Tom Pedavoli and Nancy Felde. Two are appointed by the City Council and they are Mike Miley and Billy Ellinger while the non-voting member must be a school board member appointed by the Mayor. Melissa Christiansen is that member.
Last week members began a discussion on how to fund the Metronet conduit instillation project. The Redevelopment Commission has already committed to fund the project, but they haven’t determined how much and from which TIF District the funds will be paid from.
Nancy Felde suggested paying the estimated $850,000 project using $475,000 from TIF #1, $40,000 from TIF #2 and $335,000 from TIF #3.
Plymouth Clerk Treasurer Toni Hutchings said the suggested amount in TIF #3 is too high with the lease payments for the Shell Building. She also reminded commission members of their commitment care for the incidentals including lawn mowing and snow plowing until the building is leased or sold or for 10 years.
Hutchings also noted that there is not enough in the 2000 TIF #2 to participate due to the bond issue for River Park Square.
Member Mike Miley asked for the opportunity or review the project lists for the three TIF Districts prior to making the decision.
The decision was made to table action until the July meeting when members can take a closer look at that they can afford in the various TIF Districts.
